Theatre

My first love will always be the theatre. I’ve been in musicals since Pre-K, and currently perform with AfterWork Theatre (most recently as Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys & Dolls!). I graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Drama and Psychology. At Vassar, my focus was on theatre directing, culminating with my thesis of boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb (pictured above). I pride myself on being a theatre “Jax of All Trades” with background in carpentry/sets, prop design, stage management, dramaturgy, staged readings, one-person plays, and devised theatre. My lived experience as a trans non-binary Filipino-American feminist, advocate, and educator are fundamental to my current and future theatrical endeavors. I am proud volunteer for Afterwork Theater’s “Strike-A-Chord” Core committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Check out the links below for more on my previous work and stay tuned for some exciting news coming this Fall 2018! Want to talk theatre? Let’s get in touch! xo AC

Director, Co-Producer of Antonia Lassar’s POST TRAUMATIC SUPER DELIGHTFUL

Written and performed by Antonia Lassar. The lives of survivors, perpetrators, and bystanders weave together in a wickedly funny and piercingly insightful one-woman show about a community trying to heal after a sexual assault. Post Traumatic Super Delightful (PTSD) is a groundbreaking theatrical program about the sexual assault crisis on college campuses. The program combines a night of live theatre with a series of workshops about sexual violence prevention and Title IX, engaging a wider campus audience than traditional sexual violence prevention programs. The PTSD program doesn’t just start a conversation about sexual violence; it provides the knowledge and structure to continue that conversation long after PTSD has left campus. Post Traumatic Super Delightful is more than a piece of theatre; it’s an educational tool about the successes, challenges, and complexities of sexual assault prevention, including Title IX legislation.
